With Idina, Jonathan, Kristin and Olivia on board for the back nine episodes of Glee, one thing is clear: the guest stars are playing a big role in this show. Below is a rundown of eight stars I’d love to see on Glee.

Which star do you want to see the most on the show?

8 ) Tiffany or Debbie Gibson

Jordan Knight & Deborah Gibson Recording Session At Tainted Blue Studios

Why: Because more references to the ’80s are needed.

What she’d do: She’d show up in Lima, Ohio for some promo she’s doing for a C-list project. Will gets really excited! (“She was my favorite in junior high!”) and everyone in New Direction is like “What? Who is she?”

    7) Beyonce

    UPI POY 2009 - Entertainment.

Why: Because she’s a superstar and “Single Ladies” played a pretty big role in early Glee.

What she’ll do: Ryan Murphy didn’t want to put Madonna on the show because there was no way Madonna would ever show up in Lima. How about this? Kurt wins a trip for two to Los Angeles for the weekend to see a Beyonce concert from backstage with a pal. Everyone in New Directions starts playing Kurt’s-my-BFF in an attempt to get the invite. Drama (and hilarity!) ensue!

    6) Allison Janney

    Casting Society 25th Artios Awards

Why: She’s tall, she’s quirky, she can lip sync to “The Jackal” like nobody’s business.

What she’ll do: She can play Sue Sylvester’s other sister. They have an intense rivalry and it could work either way – either Allison is so much like Sue they can’t stand each other or she’s her polar opposite and cannot believe they are related.

    5) Chi McBride

    Fox All Star Party

Why: Because no one ran a high school like Chi McBride did in Boston Public.

What he’ll do: Play Mercedes’ dad.

    4) Mark Indelicato

The Lovely Bones Screening in New York

Why: His Justin on Ugly Betty is sweet, funny and proves Mark’s got the chops to keep up with the Glee kids.

What he’ll do: He’ll be a freshman prodigy that Will is convinced is the second coming who’ll take New Directions to Nationals. However, he eventually gets picked up to play some child role on Broadway, leaving Will devastated and Rachel questioning her talents.

    3) Anne Hathaway

BAM Belle Reve Gala With A Performance Of A Streetcar Named Desire

Why: Anne proved at the Oscars last year she can sing and dance. And I love her.

What she’ll do: She’ll play a musical theatre major at a college somewhere or a working young actress Rachel meets. She will become Rachel’s instant idol to the point of obsessiveness a la the Mr. Schuester crush. (I know she’s a bit old for this, but Lea Michele is 23. If 23 is the new high school, 27 is totally the new college.)

    2) Matthew Broderick

The Los Angeles Premiere Of Wonderful World

Why: Matthew Broderick is one of the most talented guys in Hollywood, with acting, singing and dancing chops to boot.

What he’ll do: Anything. This man is so versatile he can make any role work for him.

    1) Neil Patrick Harris

Paley Center For Media Celebrates How I Met Your Mother 100th Episode

Why: Have you seen Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along-Blog? You haven’t? What’s wrong with you?

What he’ll do: He can play Will’s former glee club rival. He comes back to town for a high school reunion or shows up as a judge at regionals. Will decides to prove once and for all he’s the the better, more talented person at any cost.
