I know the Glee music showdown was MIA last week, but it’s back! We’re returning with an oldie but goodie, “Bust a Move.” Will sings this song with the whole Glee gang in “Mash-Up”in an effort to loosen New Directions up and have them start thinking about unexpected mash-ups.

The Glee version is pure cheese, but it’s one of their better renditions of a 80s/90s songs Glee has covered.

Young MC released the original “Bust a Move” in 1989, when it reached #7 on the Billboard Hot 100.

I’ll admit, I voted for the original. As good a job as Glee did with the song, I like the vibe and attitude of the 89 version better. What about you?

Which "Bust a Move" is better?

Today, the Twelve Days of Glee brings us “Bust a Move.” Will Schuester sang this song in “Mash-Up” when he tried to teach the kids in New Directions what is cool. It’s funny because the performance itself is cheesy and kinda terrible, showing just how not “with it” Mr. Schuester has become. It also acts as an ice breaker so the glee club kids can loosen up around their teacher and each other.

As much as I love seeing Matthew Morrison rap, I really like his more serious performances, like “Leaving on a Jet Plane.” I hope we see more diversity from him in the next nine episodes.
