The Environmental Defense Fund put together this heartbreaking video of what’s happening in the gulf with the oil spill. It’s absolutely devastating and this video is designed to raise awareness for the delicate ecosystem.
It was EDF’s executive director David Yarnold’s 13-year-old daughter who got the idea to pair her father’s footage with the inspirational Glee song, Ecorazzi reports. Thankfully, Fox gave them permission and then EDF shared the results with the world on YouTube.

January 11th, 2010Commercials, NewsThese eco-friendly commercials of the Glee cast telling you to go green (and mean it!) were added to YouTube back in April. I just never saw them until now! They’re all part of Fox’s Green It! Mean It! campaign which they launched on Earth Day back in 2009. Stars from all the Fox shows, including 24, American Idol, Bones, Family Guy, Fringe and Lie to Me did segments.
The tips the Glee cast gives us are pretty simple — plastic luggage tags, not paper; donate old electronics; get an energy audit; etc. — but we all need to start somewhere!

December 26th, 2009Cast, Interviews, Jenna Ushkowitz, NewsJenna Ushkowitz stopped by the Today Show on December 23rd to chat all things Glee with hosts Kathie Lee and Hoda before the holidays. Jenna talked about the importance of giving back and proved this by donating $100,000 worth of Hello Kitty toys to the show’s toy drive.
The video is brief, but what a wonderful thing for Jenna to do! She’s had such an amazing year and it’s so nice to see her share that with those who are less fortunate.
