    March 31st, 2010Erin (Glee Dork)Jane Lynch, Merchandise

Party Down was a hilarious show on Starz about wannabe celebrities who were biding time as cater waiters until they caught their big break, parodying Hollywood’s perception of itself and how those in Hollywood view the industry, the city and each other. Created by Rob Thomas, it starred Adam Scott, Ken Marino, Ryan Hansen, Martin Starr, Lizzy Caplan and Jane Lynch! The second season (sans Jane) just finished airing. Jane had to leave the show because of, uh, Glee.

The future of the show is up in the air, as Adam Scott recently signed a deal to appear on Parks and Recreation. Regardless of what happens, Party Down will become one of those beloved cult shows like Arrested Development and Freaks and Geeks. People will quote it for years to come and wonder why it was cancelled.

The season one DVD will be available on April 6th! You can get yours for $21.99 via Amazon. 411 Mania has a fabulous review of the DVD and it’s extras, and I suggest you read that!

February 23rd, 2010Erin (Glee Dork)Cast, Jessalyn Gilsig, Merchandise

Before they were Dr. Jack Shepard on Lost and Terri Schuester on Glee, Matthew Fox and Jessalyn Gilsig were on a little-seen UPN show called Haunted. Haunted aired in 2002, but was cancelled after only seven episodes. Four episodes were produced, but never aired. Jessalyn’s guest appearance is in one of these never-aired epiosdes. Other lucky guest stars finally seeing their roles on screen include Ken Marino (Veronica Mars) and Mya.

Matthew Fox played a police officer obsessed with finding his abducted son. After a near-death experience, the dead can communicate with him (a la Ghost Whisperer but creepier) and some of the dead purposely screw with his dead to ruin his investigations.

The complete series DVD will be made available on April 13th–the same day Glee comes back! TheDVDs are available through Amazon for $26.99.

I was afraid that the DVD Glee, Volume 1: The Road to Sectionals didn’t have any extras, but boy am I ever wrong. Check out the promo below titled “Slushie Jam.”

I’m a bit confused as to why this is being titled an extra, as it’s a compilation of scenes from all thirteen episodes. But, I do love the recurring slushie theme and the promise of extras on the DVD!

Glee, Volume 1: The Road to Sectionals hits shelves December 29th.

    December 10th, 2009Erin (Glee Dork)Merchandise, News

Glee doesn’t come back on television until April 13th 2010, but to tide you over until then there will be Glee, Volume 1: The Road to Sectionals. The DVD features the first thirteen episodes, ending with the amazing Sectionals episode that aired last night!

As far as I can tell, there aren’t any special features or even the director’s cut version of the pilot. It looks like we have to wait until the full first season DVD comes out for those.

Another bummer? The DVD won’t be available until December 29th. There won’t be any Glee under your Christmas tree. However, you can pre-order on amazon right now, ensuring it shows up that very day!

    Pre-order Glee: Volume 1 now for $24.45!
