The Glee cast was spotted out in London this past week and Matthew Morrison chatted up singer Leona Lewis. Of course this means the guest star rumors got started! A couple tabloids are reporting that Leona scored a cameo role in season two.

While I don’t believe this for a second, let’s take a moment to think about who Leona could play, shall we?

    1) Emma’s High School Nemesis

Emma’s 10 year reunion is coming up, and she’s stressing about running into the popular girl who made her life hell, Leona! Things get worse when Leona bumps into Will at the supermarket and the two go out on a date or two.

    2) Finn’s college girlfriend

When Finn gets a job at the local recreation centre, he starts hanging around college student and superhot lifeguard, Leona! This sudden friendship causes problems with Finn’s relationship with Rachel, as she gets jealous and Finn starts to think he’s ready for a “real” woman.

    3) Will’s student teacher

All the boys in glee club get hot and bothered when a student teacher shows up for the semester–and wants to help out with glee club!

    4) Herself

An Ohio radio show has a “record with Leona Lewis” contest, where people are encouraged to submit vocal tapes to sing a duet with Leona, live on the radio! Things get ugly for the club when Kurt, and not Rachel, wins the prize!

    5) Vocal Adrenaline’s new coach

With Shelby on mat leave, she decides to leave the club in the most capable hands she knows–former VA superstar and current Shelby-in-training, Leona, who’s an even bigger match for Will, in the bedroom and on the

E! Online revealed earlier this week that the talks between John Stamos and Glee are now over! The former Full House and ER star will be playing Carl Howell, Emma’s new dentist love, in the second season.

I must say this is my most favorite casting choice yet. I love the Stamos and hope he gets to sing and dance. With his toothy grin and awesome hair, he makes the perfect romantic adversary for Will Schuester. Maybe Sue will even get a hair joke or two in!

What do you think? Are you excited by John appearing on Glee?

Since the Betty White on Saturday Night Live campaign went well, Betty fans have their sites set on another show–Glee. They’ve started another Facebook group and hope that it becomes large enough that Fox will pay attention and put Betty on Glee!

This is a bit different than the SNL promotion because it’s a scripted show. SNL works on the premise celebrity guests come in and participate in nearly every guest. Glee, on the other hand, needs the guest star to fit into the script or it will feel forced. I love Betty and love Glee, but if this campaign works, I want the character to work within the show.

Actress Betty White arrives as a guest for the Time Magazine's 100 Most Influential People in the World gala in New York

So, who would Betty play on Glee? Some options!

    A Substitute Teacher

When Mr, Schue’s Spanish class gets unruly, he goes on stress leave. To try to get the class back in order, Principal Figgins brings in the most terrifying substitute teacher of all time!

    Kurt’s Grandmother

Chris Colfer has previous mentioned that he’s love for Julie Andrews to play Kurt’s fashionable grandma. While I love this, Betty White would work too! Burt, who is tired of Kurt questioning his love for him every ten seconds, brings his mom to town to set Kurt straight about how the Hummels love their kids no matter what. Kurt’s grandma was a flamboyant eccentric woman who loved Broadway and doing zany things. Her son, Burt, was more of traditional midwestern type. They couldn’t be more different–but loved each other no matter what.

    Puck’s Grandmother

Puck’s grandma comes to town for a big Jewish holiday and tries to teach her grandson to behave more like a gentlemen. There could be a makeover scene and a duet and the further pursuit of Rachel.

    Will’s Grandmother

When Terri and Will reconcile, Will’s grandmother comes to town and it’s unveiled that she always hated Terri and is disappointed Will went back to her.

    Sue Sylvester’s Mom

When Sue’s mom is in town, it’s revealed why Sue is so insecure about herself: her mother is a terrible, judgmental, mean person–not unlike the Sue Sylvester people see at school.

    Washed Up Broadway Star

Thanks to the power of the Internet Broadway Database, Kurt discovers that a 1930s Broadway star (who mysteriously disappeared from the spotlight during WWII, never to be seen or heard from again), is living in Lima, Ohio! He and Mercedes hunt her down to learn what happened and help her once again achieve glory with a little help from New Directions.

Oh, hooray. Another guest star rumor. However, this one is coming from Britain’s Daily Star and not the celeb’s mouth themselves, so I don’t believe it. The latest supposed Glee guest star? Victoria Beckham!

BritWeek 2010 Charity Event: Save The Children and Virgin Unite

According to the Star, the producers were inspired to bring Victoria on board after the Madonna and Lady Gaga episodes were such a success. Considering Victoria’s greatest musical success was the Spice Girls (although, I’d secretly die of happiness if Glee covered the Spice Girls), I have a hard time believing this. That said, Victoria is always game to make fun of herself. She was cute on Ugly Betty and tried hard on American Idol.

Victoria could only play herself. She could show up in a episode about the dark side of fame, where she’s hawking the latest cell phone or line of jeans at a mall in Dayton. She’s become so desperate for recognition and cash, she’ll do anything and go anywhere, even to small town Middle America. Kurt, obviously, would be a huge fan, and would organize a convoy to go see Victoria. While there, shenanigans ensue that result in the glee club realizing that fame isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be.

The Glee guest star train never stops. Last week, it was revealed that Precious star Gabourey Sidibe wants to guest star on Glee. Amber Riley’s real-life BFF would love to work on the show–providing she didn’t have to compare her vocal pipes to Amber’s!

HBO & (RED) Present The New York Premiere of The Lazarus Effect -Inside

I love Gaby, but am sick of this pandering. That said, what could Gabourey do? Here’s a few suggestions:

    Mercedes’ Rival

When New Directions heads to Regionals, Mercedes is pumped. She’s finally getting the recognition she deserves and has a big ballad to prove it. However, when the third team in Regionals also has a sassy big girl with a voice that could make angels cry, Mercedes loses her confidence. It doesn’t help that Gaby will have the attitude to go along with it! Can we say showdown?

    A Substitute Teacher

When Brenda Castle goes on extended leave, Ms. Gaby steps in as a temporary teacher. The entire student body is struck by this teacher, as she’s different than any other teacher they’ve had. She’s compassionate, like Emma Pillsbury, but takes no prisoners, like Sue Sylvester. When the glee club starts demanding special treatment because they’re heading to Regionals, she refuses, causing conflict between her and the students and her and Mr. Schue. The reason? It’s not because she’s out to get glee club, it’s just she believes nothing should compromise your education, even a shot at winning a Regional title.

    Mercedes’ Sister

Mercedes continues her struggle with her confidence. When she’s at an all-time low, her sister, visiting home from college, gives her a few valuable life lessons about how high school is just the beginning and there will be so much more out there for a talented gal like Mercedes.

    Herself

Gaby is filming her next big movie role on location in Ohio and Kurt and Mercedes, who are big fans, track her down to get a glimpse of stardom. After getting caught in her trailer, Gaby gives them a lesson in honesty and a lesson in how it’s okay to be different. She’s different and now she’s an Oscar-nominated actress!

What do you think? Should Gaby make an appearance on Glee? If so, what role should she play?

May 2nd, 2010Erin (Glee Dork)Bad Reputation, Molly Shannon

Molly Shannon makes her Glee debut as Brenda Castle, science teacher, badminton coach and alcoholic extraordinaire. She’s the one person who isn’t afraid to put Sue Sylvester in her place. The video below is a quick behind-the-scenes look of Molly on Glee. Not much is revealed, but it will be interesting to see Sue shake in her shoes for once!

After Neil Patrick Harris, there’s one person everyone wants to see on Glee: Justin Timberlake. Ryan Murphy recently admitted it’s in the works for season two.

    80th Geneva Motor Show

“[Justin] is the one the kids jump up and down about every day and beg me to meet with him,” he told E! News. “I’m a huge fan of his music… we’d love to have him on. We start shooting the second season in July and I think I will work some magic around that time for him if I can.”

Justin’s a talented guy, but who would he play on the show? Some suggestions:

    Someone’s older brother

He can play an older brother and former glee club star who’s a few years younger than Will Schuester. He went to Los Angeles and after years of working hard, is on the verge of making it big. He comes home to visit his parents and Will asks him to visit New Directions to give them some inspiration, but the shining star turns out to be a creepy egomaniac who lies to Will, tries to seduce Rachel and more.

    A new teacher in school

Justin can play a first year teacher who’s about to replace Will as the coolest, dreamiest teacher in school. Will gets jealous as students and teachers alike fan over this new hottie. However, things aren’t always what they seem and it turns out Justin finds being the golden boy and teaching every day amazingly difficult. He turns to Will for advice and both receive a valuable life lesson.

    Himself

If New Directions goes to a competition in New York, Justin can be the surprise celebrity judge. ‘Cause we all know he got his start in a glee club!

With Ryan Murphy’s new film Eat, Pray, Love set to hit theatres in August, the buzz around town that Julia Roberts, the film’s star, is the latest celebrity who “wouldn’t mind” a guest spot on Glee.

“She saw the rough cuts and fell in love with the show,” Ryan Murphy told The Sun. “I don’t know if Julia’s going to do it – maybe.”

    Valentine's Day Los Angeles Premiere

This is more subtle than the blatant calls for guest stints we’ve heard from Taylor Swift and Katharine McPhee, but still. Who would Julia play? Here’s some ideas:

    Will’s dad’s girlfriend

Will’s dad has tons of confidence thanks to his enrollment in law school. It’s given him a new lease on life. As a result, he feels younger and more energized and wants a lady on his arm to reflect that. But Will’s dad is a classy guy. He doesn’t need a twenty-five year old floozy hanging off his arm. Oh no. His lady of choice is his thirty-eight year old law professor.

    Someone from Sue’s past

Julia’s character is a few years younger than Sue. She was the freshman who adored senior Sue and wanted nothing more than to be her friend. Sue relished the attention, but then, at the last minute, betrayed Julia. And now, as the school’s new vice-principal, she’s back for revenge.

A love interest for Burt Hummel

Burt’s a good gay who deserves a beautiful and understanding gal on his arm. Julia meets him after getting her car fixed in his shop and takes an interest. Burt, who hasn’t dated since Kurt’s mom died, is confused by this attention from a gorgeous woman. Kurt, while confused about this, wants what’s best for his dad and helps him out. Can we say Hummel makeover?

What would you want Julia to do on Glee? Do you even want to see her on the show?

    March 17th, 2010Erin (Glee Dork)News

Todrick Hall was eliminated from American Idol last week, but that hasn’t stopped him from setting his sights on another Fox television show: Glee.

“I’m making it my personal job now to be my own campaign manager to get myself a role on Glee. I think I would be perfect for that show and so every time somebody asks me what I’m doing now I’m just telling everyone that I would love, love, love to be the next cast member on Glee,” he said during his elimination conference call.

He got the idea after Simon Cowell said he sounded like he was on American Idol the musical and Randy chimed in with “Glee.”

I’m not a fan of such blatant campaigns to get on the show. However, Todrick is looking to be a regular cast member and isn’t an A-list star vying for a one-episode stint. And the twenty-four-year old wouldn’t be a bad choice for the “male Mercedes” they’re looking to cast for season two.

Here’s his American Idol audition. What do you think? Is he Glee material?

Should Glee give Todrick a shot?
