Harry Shum Jr. will be one of the stars of the upcoming film Step Up: 3D. If you haven’t seen the dancing brilliance of Step Up and Step Up 2 The Streets, I suggest you get on it. Harry plays Cable, one of New York’s finest dancers, you are about to embark on (Oprah bellow) the biggest dance battle EVER! It’s going to be amazing.

I’m (not so secretly) excited for this movie! Dancing! Harry! Terrible teen movie! How could it not be amazing? Step Up: 3D hits theatres August 6th.

Last night at the Oscars, Harry Shum’s dance troupe, The League of Extraordinary Dancers, performed a routine to all the nominated scores. It was gorgeous, with lots of movement and acrobatics. I didn’t really get doing the robot to Up’s score, but the rest was whimsical and fun. Check it out for yourself:

Congrats to Harry! Performing at the Oscars is a huge honor! Harry wasn’t actually in the stage performance, but he helped choreograph it!

Even movie’s biggest night can’t escape from the power of Glee! Harry Shum Jr. and his dance crew LXD announced yesterday that they’ve been asked to perform at the Oscars! How amazing is that?

Harry Shum Jr., the dancer cum actor who plays the shy Mike Chung on Glee (so shy he didn’t speak until “Sectionals!) sat down with Clevver TV. They talked about his dance background, being on a Golden Globes-nominated show, his musical theatre background and more.

Did you know he was born in Costa Rica and that Spanish was his first language? So cool.

I love Harry. He’s such a great dancer and adds a lot to Glee. He promises us we’ll see more Mike Chang and I can’t wait!

Ah, how did I not notice this earlier? Thanks to Television Without Pity, I discovered that the guy in the purple dancing in the catchy new iPod Nano commercial is none other than Glee’s own Mike Chang!

He’s by far the best dance on the show, so it’s cool to see him popping up dancing in other places.
