June 14th, 2010Erin (Glee Dork)Broadway, Cast, Lea Michele, Matthew Morrison

The Tony Awards were on Sunday evening. Did you watch? They’re always a fun awards show because the performances are so amazing. This year, they extended an invite to Lea Michele and Matthew Morrison to perform, as they’ve brought Broadway to the mainstream with their stellar performances on Glee. Lea performed what is probably going to become her signature song, “Don’t Rain on My Parade,” while Matthew took on “All I Need is the Girl.”

What did you think of Matthew’s more traditional Broadway song? Is it better than his rap songs on Glee?

    April 30th, 2010Erin (Glee Dork)Lea Michele

Lea Michele is the cover girl for the May 2010 issue of ASOS. The magazine styled her in a complete 180 from Rachel Berry. It’s dark, edgy and sexy. She looks hot, but I’m not sure if this is the best look for Lea. What do you think? I LOVE the behind-the-scenes pages at the end, though. It’s great to see Lea’s personal style shine through!

What magazine should Lea be on the cover of next?

Somone please explain to me how Lauren Conrad is more relevant than these lovely ladies? Dianna for next the cover, please.

Thanks to Gleek Report for the photos!

April 2nd, 2010Erin (Glee Dork)Cast, Jane Lynch, Lea Michele

Both Lea Michele and Jane Lynch are in the running for the 2010 TIME 100 Poll, where they list the most influential people in 2010. Time tries to get a good mix f entertainers, politicians, activists and more, but often the celebrity quotient is pretty high.

Summer TCA Tour - Day 10

You can vote for Lea here and Jane here.

I’d argue that Jane deserves a spot, but Rachel Berry (albeit fictional) deserves a spot more than Lea. Lea is mega-talented, but what has she done to change the world? Jane, on the other hand, is creating waves both as a near-50 comedic actress and as an out lesbian. For someone like that to be as talked about as she is, that’s amazing and deserves recognition. Rachel Berry, however, has redefined high school. She’s made it cool to be a loser, cool to be driven and cool to be yourself. Lea is AMAZING as Rachel and it’s impossible to separate the two. But until Lea is doing stuff to shake up the entertainment industry outside her character, making a list like this is a bit premature.

March 28th, 2010Erin (Glee Dork)Cast, Fashion, Lea Michele

Lea Michele looked fun and flirty in a pink Zac Posen dress at the Kids’ Choice Awards. Lea loves to bring the glamour to the red carpet, but toned it down here for an event-appropriate look!

She paired the dress with Tabitha Simmons shoes and a Fendi bag. I loved the big shoulders and subtle ’80s vibe Lea is giving here. Could it be a nod to the upcoming Madonna episode?

Here’s how to get Lea’s look for less!

February 22nd, 2010Erin (Glee Dork)Cast, Lea Michele, News

The New York Post is reporting that Lea Michele may get her Broadway return sooner rather than later! Reed Prescott, executive director of the New York Theatre Barn, is hoping she’ll take on a starring role in the upcoming musical Speargrove Presents. It sounds tailor-made for Rachel Berry’s latereog, as it’s about a small town Texas high school struggling to put together a production of Rent.

The 52nd Annual GRAMMY Awards - Arrivals

“We’ve crafted the lead with Lea in mind,” Prescott told the paper. “As a veteran Broadway trouper, she can relate to her character’s frustration over the show, in this case ‘Rent,’ not going on.”

This is lovely, but how will Lea fit a Broadway show into her already jam-packed schedule? Is this show a few years from production? I love Lea and want her back on Broadway stat (I think she’s more suited to the stage than screen–with the exception of Glee, of course!) but it won’t be happening for a few more years.

February 18th, 2010Erin (Glee Dork)Amber Riley, Cast, Cory Monteith, Lea Michele, News, TV Appearances

A few weeks back, Cory Monteith twittered about recording a guest spot for the Simpsons. Well, it turns out he’s not the only Gleek getting the blue-and-yellow treatment. Co-stars Lea Michele and Amber Riley will be joining him on the show

    !

Lea tweeted her involvement on Tuesday, writing “recorded an episode of the Simpsons today! So cool!!!! Will let everyone know when it’s gonna air!”

Amber revealed her involvement on February 12th in similar fashion. This leads me to believe there are other Gleeks who will also be on the show, but haven’t spilled the beans yet!

February 1st, 2010Erin (Glee Dork)Cast, Events, Lea Michele

Lea Michele looked gorgeous at the Grammys last night in a one-shouldered midnight blue dress. It was fun to see her get a little sassy on the red carpet after all those ballgowns.

Lea presented the award for “Best Female Pop Vocal” with Ricky Martin. Yes, that’s a very odd pairing and it showed when the two hit the stage. Beyonce took home the prize, which is exciting. Two of her songs have been featured on Glee so far–”Single Ladies” and “Halo” and Destiny Child’s “Bootylicious” was performed too. I wonder if we’ll see any more Beyonce on the back nine? Lea could rock “If I Were A Boy” like nobody’s business.

Here’s a cute video of Lea talking to Ryan.
