June 14th, 2010Broadway, Cast, Lea Michele, Matthew MorrisonThe Tony Awards were on Sunday evening. Did you watch? They’re always a fun awards show because the performances are so amazing. This year, they extended an invite to Lea Michele and Matthew Morrison to perform, as they’ve brought Broadway to the mainstream with their stellar performances on Glee. Lea performed what is probably going to become her signature song, “Don’t Rain on My Parade,” while Matthew took on “All I Need is the Girl.”
What did you think of Matthew’s more traditional Broadway song? Is it better than his rap songs on Glee?

April 7th, 2010Cory Monteith, Finn Hudson, Matthew Morrison, Videos, Will SchuesterMatt Morrison and Cory Monteith (as Mr. Schue and Finn) did a short promo for last night’s episode of American Idol. It’s short and sweet and we learn that it takes more than talent to be a star. (It takes certainty, just like John Stamos!). Check it out:
Glee returns in less than a week!

January 14th, 2010Cast, Matthew Morrison, MusicMatthew Morrison is the first Glee star to score their own recording contract! According to People.com, Matthew signed a deal with Mercury Records. We can expect his debut album to hit stores this fall, just in time for Glee’s second season!
Not much is known about the project. What kind of music will Matthew records? Will he stay true to his Broadway routes? Will he try to appeal to Glee’s younger audience? Will he rap in true Mr. Schuester style?
Before the deal was signed, Matthew spoke about how his album would be “a classier Justin Timberlake album. It’s going to be me and a big orchestra, but also with beats.” I can’t wait to hear it!
Speaking of Justin Timberlake, he should guest star on Glee. He’s amazing every time he appears on Saturday Night Live.

December 30th, 2009Cast, Matthew Morrison, NewsMatthew Morrison performed “Springtime for Hitler” at the Kennedy Center Honors earlier this month. The performance honored Mel Brooks, who was one of the evening’s honorees. The others were Dave Brubeck, Grace Bumbry, Robert DeNiro, and Bruce Springsteen.
CBS aired the event and videos of the evening are finally available!
Matthew did an amazing job and proved his vocal range. I’d love to see him do more Broadway-style show tunes on Glee, wouldn’t you?
I wonder who chose “Springtime for Hitler” as his performance piece. It’s hilariously inappropriate.

December 28th, 2009Cast, Chris Colfer, Cory Monteith, Interviews, Matthew Morrison, NewsMatthew Morrison, Cory Monteith and Chris Colfer interview each other in this cute segment for AOL TV’s Outside the Box. They answered questions submitted by fans and questions they just wanted to know about each other.
Find out Matthew’s childhood crush, Chris’s favorite Glee song, their favorite television song themes (guess who loves Knight Rider?), Cory’s worst audition ever, and lots about the show!
They are so cute together. I wonder what it’s like on set at Glee when the cameras aren’t rolling. I love Matthew’s desire to see a Will/Emma sex scene – that would be interesting!
