The lovely and amazing (we call her Jaymamazing) Jayma Mays will star in the upcoming Smurfs movie opposite upcoming Glee guest star Neil Patrick Harris! According to the Hollywood Reporter, Jayma will play NPH’s pregnant wife. Hank Azaria will be the voice of Gargamel.

Raja Gosnell (Beverly Hills Chihuahua) is directing the film, which explores how Jayma and Neil’s nice little New York life gets turned on its head once they meet the Smurfs. The Smurfs apparently live in Central Park. Filming begins next month, once Glee’s back nine has wrapped up.

The coupling of Jayma and NPH is genius and I cannot wait until this film hits the big screen. At first, I was very skeptical that a movie version of one of my favorite childhood cartoons, but with Neil, Jayma and Hank on board, it looks like it’s going to be good!

Ausiello attended a Glee press conference yesterday and scored several spoiler bombs — including that Neil Patrick Harris is in talks to guest star on the hit show! The only is that CBS, the channel that airs How I Met Your Mother needs to sign off on the deal.

The plan is for NPH to star in the episode guest directed by Joss Whedon, the genius behind NPH’s Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along-Blog. NPH would be singing and dancing. I hope this happens!
