December 15th, 2009Episodes, SectionalsOooh, goody! Today Fox released a video giving us a peek behind the scenes of the big Will/Emma kiss. As we know, Will left Terri after discovering her pregnancy was fake. Ken dumped Emma after she made him move the wedding in order to go to sectionals for Will. Emma first rejected Will’s advances because she knew he had some thinking and some healing to do before jumping into another relationship. But after an awesome rendition of “My Life Would Suck Without You” Will raced after Emma and ended the fall episodes with what we’ve all been waiting for!
In the video below, Jayma Mays and Matthew Morrison talk about how they feel about their big scene, what they did to prepare and more.
They are soooooo cute! I wonder how their relationship is going to work out. Any guesses?

December 12th, 2009Episodes, Sectionals“Sectionals” was Glee’s biggest episode yet. A lot of the major story lines were wrapped up (Emma and Ken, Terri and Will, Quinn’s baby) and things were set in motion for big drama when the show comes back in April. Can Finn ever forgive Puck? Will Quinn be able to handle this pregnancy on her own? Will Emma and Will make it work?
As awesome as all that drama was, “Sectionals” was all about the music. From Mercedes’ “And I’m Telling You I’m Not Going” in Glee practice to “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” at sectionals, this episode brought us some of the best music seen on the show yet.
Check out the behind-the-scenes video form the episode below, where Amber Riley and Kevin McHale chat about how far they’ve come since the show started.
Will April ever come?!

December 9th, 2009Episodes, SectionalsOh my goodness did Glee ever deliver tonight! The episode tried to cram a lot in (I can’t help but wonder if it was originally intended to be a two-hour episode) but once New Directions hit the stage, it was smooth sailing from there.

All the major plot points sorted itself out: Finn discovers that he’s not Quinn’s baby’s father, Will decides to leave Terri permanently, Ken breaks up with Emma, Sue’s scheming catches up with her and she gets suspended and New Directions’ hard work pays off with two amazing performances.
Mercedes’ performance of “And I’m Telling You I’m Not Going” and Rachel’s “Don’t Rain on My Parade” were both absolutely stunning ballads. “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” was performed perfectly for the context New Directions performed it in, with strong vocals and tons of energy, but shaky choreography.
High Notes
All the musical numbers were absolutely amazing in the episode. All of them. Mercedes and Rachel’s ballads were superb and proves that all of New Direction’s hard work is paying off. “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” was the perfect response to all the drama happening around sections. “My Life Would Suck Without You” was cheeky and cute. did you notice all their funny dance moves? It’s like a highlight reel of all the dances from the past episodes!
Will tearing up while on the phone with Emma was heart wrenching. Even though I think he’s a bit of a douche sometimes, you can tell he really cares about the kids.
Emma’s response to Will’s “I left my wife” was perfect. Their kiss at the end of the episode was so well done — cutting between the song and Will chasing after Emma — but I still have mixed feelings about the Will/Emma relationship. Someday, yes. Now? No.
Rachel hugging Mercedes and giving her the ballad was great. You could tell how hard that was for her (good acting Lea Michele!) but she knew not only was it what was best for Glee, it was the right thing to do. Mercedes has been playing second fiddle to Rachel for too long. It’s her time to shine.
As much as I love Emma, I’m going to come out and say it: I’m glad Ken dumped her. Power to you, Ken. Go find a woman who will put you first.
Finally, someone acknowledges the awesomeness that is Santana, Brittany, Matt and Mike. Will they be getting more screen time when Glee returns in April?
I’m glad Sue is getting her due! But she’s going to come back stronger than ever! “Get ready for the ride of your life, Will Schuester. You are about to board the Sue Sylvester Express. Destination: Horror!”
“I’m reasonably confident you’ll be adding revenge to the long list of things you’re no good at. Next to being married, running a high school glee club, and finding a hairstyle that doesn’t make you look like a lesbian.”
I’m glad Finn stepped up to the plate and helped New Directions out.
The kids’ looks on their faces when they saw Jane Addams perform was priceless. I hope this doesn’t become a thing — it was the same camera angle when they saw Vocal Adrenaline for the first time — but oh wow. They felt screwed.
Off-Key
How did everyone find out about Puck being the baby’s father? I get Mercedes told them, but that’s a huge secret! It must have slipped out in an awkward moment and caused so much drama.
How did Rachel figure it out? The entire “I’m kinda psychic” line didn’t fly. Puck’s been attentive to Quinn all season, but that’s not enough to claim he’s her child’s father without more proof. Especially considering how self-centered Rachel is. In some ways, the act is very self-serving — if Finn is single, then maybe Rachel will get her shot — but still. It happened far too fast to feel legitimate.
Why did Jane Addams Academy director decide to cheat? Eve seems so much better than that. Kudos to Emma for calling them on their crap. That, and it would have been nice to see New Directions win on their own. The entire thing does play into the show’s over-arching “don’t stop believing” theme though.
Does this mean there will be no more Terri? How does Will’s new romance impact the show?
Why did Jacob Ben have to come? I get they needed a twelfth member, but his entire presence there just fell flat.
Can glee clubs just change set lists like that? Who did they supply the music to? Wouldn’t the organizers noticed something was up if three clubs submitted very similar set lists? How exactly did all that go down?
The next episode is…in April. How will we survive? My life will suck without you, Glee.

December 6th, 2009Episodes, Music, SectionalsThe music from the next episode of Glee is now up online! “Sectionals” should be an amazing episode musically. It’s what the club has been working for all season. They come out of nowhere with songs that haven’t been highlighted on the show before. The performances should be amazing.
Below are videos of the songs. It’s just the audio — The Glee kings are too smart to let something like that get loose.
“Don’t Rain on My Parade” by Barbra Streisand
(sung by Rachel)“You Can’t Always Get What You Want” by The Rolling Stones
(sung by New Directions)“My Life Would Suck Without You” by Kelly Clarkson
(sung by New Directions)“And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going” from Dreamgirls
(sung by Mercedes)I love all four songs — great choices! — but am blown away by Mercedes’ rendition of “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going.” I’m a sucker for everything Mercedes. Rachel’s rendition of “Don’t Rain on My Parade” is solid, but I’m not completely on the Rachel train. She’s a very talented girl and all her songs are amazing, but I’m always rooting for Mercedes.
Oh goodness, I hope they win sectionals.

December 5th, 2009Episodes, SectionalsThis next episode of Glee looks amazing! For some reason, the fabulous four (Artie, Kurt, Tina and Mercedes) and plotting to keep Rachel out of loop about the Quinn/Puck/Finn mystery. They even get the the Cheerios on board.
I wonder what caused Mercedes to spill the beans. Any guesses?

December 4th, 2009Episodes, SectionalsNest week it will be the fall finale of Glee. I don’t think I can handle four months being Glee-free, can you?
Next week, lots of stuff goes down. Will was suspended so Emma goes as the Glee club’s chaperone. Bus isn’t she supposed to be getting married that day? what is going on?
We’re shown that the other Glee Club directors did take the set lists and perform McKinley’s original numbers. Oh no! But, oh wait! Does McKinley have new numbers up their sleeve? Mabe they don’t need Will after all!
Next Wednesday, 8pm on Fox! See you there!
